Bruce Gordon
Fine Wine Manager
"Good food, great wine and fantastic friends are the cornerstones to a successful life'
After half a lifetime of exploring the world in search of the perfect cheese, Bruce Gordon settled in Adelaide 15 years ago. This wayward Canadian was soon working in McLaren Vale, running cellar doors and restaurants, teaching wine appreciation and indulging in his passion of matching food and wine. A true convert to all things Australian (with the possible exception of Vegemite), Bruce is the man to see for answers to your curly wine questions, difficult menu decisions and footy tipping picks.
As Fine Wine Manager, Bruce Gordon tastes upwards of 50 wines every week, selecting the best to stock in the store. In addition, he is a gun at tracking down those hard to find or obscure labels, taking great pleasure in exploring the Australian wine world on the recommendations of his customers. If you are looking for a $10 bargain or a $500 icon, Bruce will find the perfect match for you.
Alas, he is still looking for the perfect cheese!
Stephen Marks
Owner
In April 2007, Steve Marks' colourful life took another twist as he assumed ownership of the historic property at 2 Wellington Square. Well acquainted with restoring old buildings, Steve took on the challenge at Wellington Cellars after resurrecting the Union Hotel on Waymouth St, the Yankalilla Hotel and, 10 years ago, North Adelaide's Cathedral Hotel.
Steve's background in marketing, seafood and hospitality combine in the unique food and wine concept that is Wellington eu Cellars. His building company, New Wave Construction, keeps him busy getting his hands dirty and has done a magnificent job in creating the eu shopfront. However, it is good gutsy reds and a young family that keeps Steve going. The latest addition to the Marks clan, Chelsea, was born recently, bringing even more demands to Steve's busy schedule.
